Important study on Solinus’s third-century geographical compendium of Pliny’
s NATURAL HISTORY. This is the second and best edition of one of the greatest 
commentaries on an ancient text ever produced and it is commonly regarded as 
the greatest work of Claude de Saumaise (Salmasius 1588-1653). The third volume 
deals with the botanical nomenclature of medicinal plants, etc. Brunet V,
