COOLIDGE, Calvin. THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF CALVIN COOLIDGE. New York:
Cosmopolitan Book Corp. 1929. First Edition. First Trade Edition in
green cloth. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the former President on the
recto of the frontispiece portrait, as usual: "To Dr. Robert B.
Osgood, '95/With Regards,/Calvin Coolidge." Robert Bayley Osgood
graduated with Coolidge and 72 others from Amherst College in 1895.
He went on to become president himself, of the American Orthopaedic
Association. Along with Carl Schlatter, he first described in 1903
Osgood-Schlatter disease in adolescents. He founded the Osgood
Orthopedic Clinic in Boston. One encounters the signed limited
edition of 1000 copies much more frequently than signed trade
editions of this title. Inscribed copies of any association value are
found even less frequently. Minor wear. Very Good, lacking the
uncommon dustwrapper. $1750.00
