Battles and Leaders of the Civil War (4 volumes, complete): Being for the
most part contributions by Union and Confederate officers, based upon “The
Century War Series”
NY: The Century Co., 1884-1888. Green buckram, blind stamped decorative
borders and gilt stamped titles, top edges gilt. Four vols, 4to, over 3,000
pages illustrated with B&W maps, sketches, engravings (some from photographs
by Brady, etc.).  [24], 750; [20] 760, [20] 752, [20] 835.  All volumes
tight, clean, and sound, cover color still vivid, gilt bright. A couple of
bumped corners, spine ends and corner tips mildly rubbed. No internal marks

Lossing, Benson J.
Pictorial History of the Civil War in the United States of America (3
volumes, complete). Philadelphia: David McKay, Publisher, 1900 (later
edition). Three volumes, 8vo, maroon cloth with blind stamped cover vignette
and gilt stamped titles and spine design. Illustrated by nearly twelve
hundred engravings on wood by Lossing and Barrit, from sketches by the
author and others. Exceptionally clean, sound, and bright, with mild wear at
spine ends, very slight wear to some corner tips, slight fade to spines of
vols 2 and 3, some dustiness to text block edges, a few very small spots on
fore edge vol 1.

Dix, John Adams, and Dix, Morgan (compiler)
Memoirs of John Adams Dix (2 Volumes, complete)
NY: Harper & Brothers, 1883.  First edition. Two volumes, 8vo, dark blue
cloth with gilt spine titles, top edges gilt, brown endpapers. 388 & 435
pages. Dix was a Postmaster of New York, Secretary of the Treasury, U.S.
Senator, and Governor of New York. He was also served as a major general in
the New York Militia  in the American Civil War, with a distinguished
record. These volumes are in very good condition with somewhat rounded (not
bumped) corners, some wear at spine ends and corner tips (one tip worh
through), otherwise very clean and sound with bright cover color and
sparkling gilt. Broadfoot.
