on verso of front endpaper. Fine in Near Fine dustwrapper. $35.00

4. DOS PASSOS, John. NUMBER ONE. Boston: Houghton Mifflin 1943. First
Edition. Fifteen thousand copies of this novel by Dos Passos were
printed. In the correct dustwrapper with Dos Passos's plea to
purchase savings bonds on the rear. Fountain Lawn Library bookplate
on front pastedown and bookseller's ticket on the rear pastedown. The
dustwrapper on this title is often found worn. In this case it is

reinforcement internally. Fine in Very Good dustwrapper. $75.00

5. DOS PASSOS, John. OCCASIONS AND PROTESTS. [Chicago]: Henry Regnery

opinions and notions about America. Fountain Lawn Library bookplate
on front pastedown and bookseller's ticket on the rear pastedown. In
the apparent first issue dustwrapper designed by Barry Geller. Fine

6. DOS PASSOS, John. THE GRAND DESIGN. Boston: Houghton Mifflin 1949.
First Edition. Fifteen thousand copies of this novel about the New
Deal by Dos Passos were printed. As with a few other books by Dos
Passos from around this time period, the publisher reprinted the book
at a slightly later date without a date on the title page and with
"First Printing" on the copyright page. This is the true first
edition. Bookseller's ticket on the rear pastedown. Bump lower rear
corner of spine of book and dustwrapper. Offsetting from news
clipping to front endpaper. Near Fine in Near Fine dustwrapper with
sunned spine. $125.00

7. DOS PASSOS, John. THREE SOLDIERS. New York: George Doran (1921).
First Edition, fifth state (no priority given for states 3-5) in the
scarce dustwrapper, this with the third state of reviews. INSCRIBED
and SIGNED, apparently not in Dos Passos's hand, on the front
endpaper: "To M.C. Baldwin/with the compliments/of the author/and his
friend/David Margolis/July 27, 1922." Old dampspotting to front and
rear covers of book; dustwrapper in very nice shape with a little
wear to the head of the spine which has an internal tape repair.
Better than Good copy in a Near Fine, attractive dustwrapper. $450.00
