designs, arranged in chronological order. Text section stabbed & tied at inner
margin, plates and text loosely housed in a green cloth over beige boards
portfolio with linen ties, paper label and a few very light stains on front

A scarce memorial volume in honor of Appia (1862-1928) who was a Swiss
pioneer of modern stage lighting and design. He is famous for his “moderne”
treatment of Wagner’s operas.
