This  copy  not  only  SIGNED  by the author  but  also  with  a  fine
INSCRIPTION    by    him  mentioning    the   Pulitzer:   "This   book
greatly/surprised    my    editor,/Harry      Maule,   by/taking   the
Pulitzer/Prize.  My wife nearly/didnt live over it./I was  pleased/TS
Stribling/Dec  17  1940."   Stribling  was the  first of  two  Alabama
authors  to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Literature, the other being
Harper Lee for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD.  Sunning to top edge and  spine.
Very  Good,  lacking  the  dustwrapper but  with  superb  inscription.
