blank leaf B8, and with the final leaf blank, but for the woodcut device of the 
printer on the verso. Title page with another woodcut device. Early vellum, 
spine neatly recovered (repaired) with plain vellum. Title a bit soiled, and some 
minor soiling to the text.     $450.00
An uncommon reprint edition of the popular collection of letters by Longolius 
(or Christophe de Longueil) who died in 1522 at the age of 34. There are 
numerous letters to Pietro Bembo and Jacopo Sadoleto. A biography of the author is 
printed before the text. Longolius was a gifted scholar who started college 
in Paris at the age of 9. See CONTEMPORARIES OF ERASMUS, Vol. 2, p. 342-345.
