(7-3/8"  x  11-3/4") bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe in  modern  full
polished  tan calf with gilt lettering on the spine. Two parts in  one
volume,  lacking  the engraved title page and portrait, the two  parts
with  separate  printed title pages with engraved  devices:  SECTIONIS
PRIMAE  PORTIO  TERTIA  DE  ANATOMIA TRIPLICI  and  MONOCHORDUM  MUNDI
SYMPHONIACUM,  SEU,  REPLICATIO  ROBERTI  FLUD ...  AD  APOLOGIAM  ...
JOANNIS  KEPLERI, ADVERSUS DEMONSTRATIONEM SUAM ANALYTICAM,  NUPERRIME
EDITAM....  With  woodcut ornaments and initials, woodcut or  engraved
illustrations,   and  a  folding   engraved  plate  loosely  inserted.
Wellcome  I  2328.  Fludd,  a  Rosicrucian, was  best  known  for  his
research  in  occult  philosophy and as the main supporter  of  fellow
Rosicrucian  William Harvey's theory of the circulation of the  blood.
Fludd  also served as a lightning rod for attacks by Johannes  Keppler
and  other prominent scientists against his alchemical theories. It is
said  that when Fludd died in 1637, alchemy died with him. Rather even
light browning to the text. Very Good in Fine binding.        $7500.00
