DERRY, IN 1688-89 [A TRUE ACCOUNT OF THE SIEGE OF LONDON-DERRY].
Londonderry: James Hempton, 1895. Original cloth, Sixteenmo, 103 pages + ad 
leaf, black and white frontispiece. Fine.
      Handsome reprint of the second edition corrected, originally published 
in 1689. The City of Derry in Ireland was in the hands of protestants loyal 
to William and Mary when it came under siege in December 1688 by a Catholic 
army supporting King James II. The Reverend George Walker held the rank of 
major and was known as the Defender of Derry for his role in the defense of 
the city. Bound in original red cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spine 
and upper board titles, old prior owner name and address penned lightly on 
front pastedown. Minor extremity rubs.
