Institution Press. 1838. Oblong 8vo. ff.28. Embossed leaves of raised letter
text, including 17 text illustrations after woodblocks. Leaves stabbed & tied at
inner margin, bound in orig. patterned cloth over marbled boards. Embossed
green paper label (reading “Fables”) mounted on front cover. Rare. $1,250.00

Printed in the embossed alphabet designed for the use of the blind by Dr.
Edmond Fry. The OCLC lists John Alston as the author of this work. The first
edition, also 1838, contains a total of 23 leaves. OCLC records one copy only, at
Harvard. Our expanded (to 28 leaves) second edition is recorded with one copy
only, at Princeton.
