"The Imperial Image. Paintings for the Mughal Court"

By Milo Cleveland Beach. Published in Washington by the Freer Gallery of
Art in 1981.

An impressive catalog of the important collection of Mughal painting in
the Freer Gallery, with an emphasis on the period between 1560 and 1660.
Beach’s commentary provides great insight into the subjects, the emperors
who commissioned the works, and the painters, and an appendix lists major
Akbar-period manuscripts and all available information on their artists.

Hardcover. 9”x12”, 237 pages, many black & white and some color
illustrations, dust jacket. Jacket with some light wear, else in fine,
clean condition. $85.00
