Original Etching by William Auerbach Levy. Marlborough-on-Hudson, NY: Dard
Hunter. 1915. 4to. 14,(2)pp. Woodcut device printed in red on title. Laid in is the
original etching of a Hebrew scholar, signed in pencil by William Auerbach
Levy. Edition limited to 250 copies, printed for The Chicago Society of Etchers,
with “the paper and type made by Dard Hunter in the manner of the Sixteenth
Century.” Parchment over gray boards, a few small spots and light soiling.
Paper label printed in black & red mounted on front cover. Also laid in is a
(4)pp. roster of the “Active Members of the Chicago Society of Etchers 1915.”
$1,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
The original etching is usually missing.
