found in poor condition. $5,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
The 2nd and “best edition” extensively enlarged and corrected, from the 1597
1st edition, by Thomas Johnson (d. 1644) who also improved the accuracy of
the woodcut illustrations. Gerard (1545-1612) was a surgeon and horticulturist
who based his work on an earlier one by Rembert Dodoens. This revised edition
proved so popular it was reprinted in 1636. Nissen 698; STC 11751.
