Greetings Booklovers,
We are pleased to offer:
~
(No. 9554 ) Goodyear Aircraft Corporation. INTRODUCING THE F2G-2.
Akron: Goodyear Aircraft Corporation, [1945?]. Wrappers, Sixteenmo, [12
pages], Bichrome illustrations. Near fine.
Promotional booklet for Goodyear's carrier-based "Super" Corsair
fighter at the end of World War II. The F2G-2 mounted the powerful 28
cylinder Pratt & Whitney Wasp Major R-4360-4 engine. Only five production
models were completed before the war ended. This booklet compares the new
plane with previous Corsairs and highlights the improvements. There are
basic specifications and statistics interspersed with handsome illustrations
of scantily-clad ladies in island locales. Scarce. Printed paper covers with
saddle-stapled binding. Minimal wear, binding sound. There are several short
(1/4") pen strokes perpendicular to spine on rear cover. $75.00
