Salem: Marine Research Society, 1929. First printing, Full cloth, Quarto,
xi, 170 pages + plans, black & white plates, plans, diagrams. Near Fine.
An historical study of aesthetically pleasing vessels, accompanied by
many illustrative plates and plans. A section of folding plans at rear
includes a very old Chesapeake Bay bugeye, a New Orleans oyster lugger, sail
plan of the pinky "Eagle," sail plan of the U.S. Frigate "Raleigh," plans of
the U.S. Frigate "Congress," and more. Bound in dark blue leather-textured
cloth over boards with gilt-lettered spine, dark blue topstain. Upper board
bordered with a blind-stamped rule. Hinges solid, a few spots of minor
foxing inside. $75.00
