Covers the financial and business situation in 
Mexico. Needing loans the Mexican government led 
by Porfirio Díaz turned to London as had much of 
Latin America, but the British Council of Foreign 
Bondholders was able to prevent official 
recognition of the Mexican state and keep Mexican 
bonds off the London stock market. OCLC shows 
only a single copy at the Univ. London, though 
the translation made in Spanish the following 
year (Informe sobre la República Mexicana: 
presentado al consejo de tenedores de bonos 
extranjeros,1887) is more widely available. A 
good copy, spine perished, wrappers sunned with 
small chips, first few signatures detached, text
