By Octavius T. Howe & Frederick C. Matthews. Published in Salem by the
Marine Research Society in 1926. Special edition, limited to 97 numbered

The first, limited edition of this American nautical classic. All these

trade edition are often fairly easy to find in the $50-$75 price range.

Hardcover. 8”x10.5”, 372 pages, color frontispiece and many black & white
plates, dust jacket. Special edition, printed on rag paper and bound in
marbled boards (see the marbled boards below, left). Jacket with some
soil, light wear. Book largely unopened -several of the gathers have been
opened a bit roughly, but otherwise fine and clean. $150.00 net, ppd.
