Index. Double column text. Title printed in red & black. Bound in modern 
black cloth (simulated black morocco), spine stamped in gilt (stamping a bit 
rubbed). Outer leaves somewhat chipped at fore-edge, one leaf of the index 
with a small loss. Title page a bit spotted.     $250.00 (trade discount 
allowed)
This volume includes "The Tryal of Mr. John Peter Zenger, of New-York, 
Printer, for printing and publishing a Libel against the Government... 
[conducted] at New-York, on August 4th 1735." Previous to the trial he had been held 
in prison for ten months (while his wife continued to publish his weekly 
newspaper). He was subsequently found not guilty.
