pages, the copyright pages, and the captions to the illustrations in 
English. A beautifully illustrated history of the United States to date 
with 4 steel-engraved title pages and 86 fine steel engravings after 
numerous artists including Leitze, Weir, Powell, Chappel, Nast, and 
others. In addition there are several pages of facsimiles of documents.
