MARYLAND.
Philadelphia: Sherman & Co., Printers, 1885. First printing, Full cloth,
Duodecimo, [iv], 10-182 pages. Very Good.
This work examines many events in Jefferson's life and argues that his
character more than any other of the founders gives America its lack of
reverence for authority. Bound in dark brown cloth over boards with blind
stamped rules and ornaments, blind stamped title on upper board,
salmon-colored endpapers. Spine ends have chips and some fraying, minor rubs
to board extremities, corners have shallow bumps. Interior is lightly
