a Very Good Dust Jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
      Good history of the New England fishery by a 6th generation fisherman. 
Pierce saw many of the old ways disappearing and here records fine firsthand 
descriptions of the daily life of the saltwater fisherman and how the fish 
were caught. Appendices include a glossary, rigging details on Gloucester 
schooners, statistics, a section on superstitions, and more. Illustrated 
with photographs and line drawings by the author. ALBION p. 207. Bound in 
dark blue textured cloth over boards with spine titled and ruled in gilt. 
Minor rubs to extremities, prior owner gift inscription (1934) on front free 
endpaper, a few specks of foxing to endpapers. Jacket has rubs along fore 
edge folds, chips at spine ends at top fore corners, a few shallow edge 
tears, and some minor soil....... $75.00
