covered boards ("vellum-like"). Some old light soiling to the top portion of 
the final 12 leaves. Small paper repair to the final leaf (no loss), and a small 
hole in the next to last leaf affecting two words.     $4,500.00 (trade

One of the devotional writings of the great Benedictine Abbot and scholar 
Johann Tritheim or Trithemius (1462-1516). Printed in 3 editions in 1494, 2 in 
Mainz and our printing in Augsburg. Tritheim offers his advice to his friend 
Nicolaus de Merneck, a novice priest, on how to conduct his office. Goff T441;
