Greetings Booklovers,

We are pleased to offer:
~
(No. 10373 ) Lauriat, Charles E., Jr. THE LUSITANIA'S LAST VOYAGE: BEING A
NARRATIVE OF THE TORPEDOING AND SINKING OF THE R. M. S. LUSITANIA BY A
GERMAN SUBMARINE OFF THE IRISH COAST MAY 7, 1915 (SIGNED).
Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, (1915). Original cloth,
Duodecimo, viii, 161 pages, black and white plates, plans. Very good, No
dust jacket.
Lauriat, a Boston bookseller, was on board the RMS Lusitania when she
was torpedoed off the southern coast of Ireland by the German submarine
U-20. In this first hand account of the sinking Lauriat discusses Elbert and
Alice Hubbard, who were lost, and is quite critical of the captain and crew
of the Lusitania. This copy INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Lauriat on front free
endpaper to Herbert L. Stone, editor of Yachting magazine. Bound in black
cloth over boards with spine titled in red, upper board titled and stamped
in red, black, and blue. Tissue-guarded frontispiece of the Lusitania. Spine
is moderately faded, there is some silverfish damage toward lower edge of
upper board, and a couple of scratches to lower board. Hinges remain sound,
interior is clean. $125.00
