PUERILIS. Barcinone (Barcelona): Jacobi a Cendrat, sumtibus Gaspardus Garrisius, 
Bibliopolae. 1600. Sm. 8vo. ff.216,(4). Index. Woodcut device on title. Cont. limp 
vellum, title hand lettered on spine. Two sections of text (first 54 leaves 
and folios 93-100) with some minor worming (small holes) affecting some words. 
A few leaves with some outer blank corners torn (not affecting text). Two text 
leaves with small holes affecting a few words. Text a bit browned & soiled.

Extremely rare Spanish imprint. This work is known in 9 editions between 1575 
and 1684. OCLC records only 1 copy each of just 3 of the 9 editions. Palau 
calls this work "a curious and celebrated Catalan/Latin vocabulary." Also 
included are words in Valencian and Lemousi. Words are listed under subject headings 
such as farming, precious stones, clothing, weather, or food and drink 
(50pp.). There are some 9,000 words and phrases (including proverbs) followed by 
their Latin equivalents. Palau 234122. The British Library, SPANISH BOOKS BEFORE 
1601, has editions of 1580 and 1591 only.
