      First edition.  Two large 4to volumes (appx. 13 inches / 33 cm 
tall), original red leatherette bindings.  Profusely illustrated 
throughout with full color photos of bindings, title-pages, engravings, 
color plates, etc.  [iii], 372; 373-757 pp.  In 'as new' condition.
       A superb collection of material, generally in the finest bindings 
and in the finest condition, and a natural companion to the catalogue 
of the Blackmer collection, also compiled by Navari.  Although the 
catalogue covers material up to 1854, a number of books published after 
1854 and before the 1970s were selected by Mr. Atabey for inclusion for 
their aesthetic or historical importance.  Collations and pagination 
are provided for all books published before 1800; pagination only is 
included for books published after that date, unless a work is 
bibliographically complex or problematic.  Includes an index of 
provenances and a bibliography.
      An auction catalogue of Atabey's collection also frequently 
appears on the market, but this is the original catalogue of the 
collection.
