[MACKAY, JOHN HENRY], "SAGITTA." DER PUPPENJUNGE. DIE GESCHICHTE EINER NAMENLOSEN LIEBE AUS DER FRIEDRICHSTRASSE. No Place: Privat-Ausgabe als Manuscript Gedruckt, 1926. #665 of 2000 copies only. This is the last & seventh work in Mackay's pseudonymous series of "Books of Nameless Love." Original cloth stamped in gold, 6 X 4-1/2 inches, nice copy in the original unprinted dust wrapper (light wear at the extremities of the spine), and in the original box with paper label, which has just slight wear. Altogether, a very presentable copy of this homosexual rarity. Mackay, of Scotch/German ancestry, wrote in German. This book was published during the opening afforded by the Weimar Republic, but was subsequently banned, with all his other works, by the Nazis. It has been described as "a classic boy-love novel set in the contemporary milieu of boy prostitution in Berlin." It's authenticity was praised by Isherwood. $500.00
