The beautifully illustrated, well-written catalog of this small but fine
collection of medieval inlaid Islamic metalwork. The objects date from the
13 and 14th centuries (with a few earlier and later), and each of the 27
pieces is fully illustrated (many with additional photographs of details),
and described, with notes regarding their inscriptions. A lovely,
important catalog.

Hardcover. 10”x13”, 128 pages, filled with color and black & white
illustrations, dust jacket. Jacket with a little light wear, otherwise in
fine, clean condition.  $275~

A beautifully illustrated, scholarly catalog of this distinctive
collection, featuring Islamic metalwork from (primarily) Syria, Egypt,
Iran, Turkey, Yemen and Afghanistan of the 13th-15th centuries. In
addition to the catalog itself, where each of the 44 pieces is fully
illustrated and described, there are a number of essays which were
suggested by individual pieces in the collection- 'Islamic Metalwork and
the Mediterranean', 'Muhammad ibn Khutlukh and the History of Early
Islamic Incense-Burners', 'Islamic Metalwork in Medieval Yemen', 'On
Phialae in the Islamic World', and 'Cairo, Damascus or Venice? Possible
Provenances of Mamluk Metalwork'.

All payments must be in U.S. funds and negotiable through a U.S. bank; We
accept checks, money orders, American Express, Visa and Mastercard. Books
may be reserved pending payment; Institutions may be billed; Standard
courtesies to institutions and the trade; Postage charges are $5.00 for
the first book, and $2.00 for each additional book. Shipments outside the
U.S. will be billed at cost. We accept returns if we are notified within
ten days of your receipt of the books-please ask for full instructions and
terms. Massachusetts residents must add 5% state sales tax.
