Greetings Booklovers,

We are pleased to offer:
~
(No. 8844 ) Federal Writers' Project of the Works Progress Administration
for the State of Massachusetts [WPA]. MASSACHUSETTS: A GUIDE TO ITS PLACES

First edition, first printing of the classic WPA Guide to
Massachusetts, with large two-sided folded map in pocket on rear pastedown.
Typical of these acclaimed guides, there is much detailed information on the
history and character of the state, its government, architecture,
literature, culture, and more. Some of the text herein was later changed
after a controversy erupted over its coverage of the Sacco and Vanzetti
Case. Includes driving tours, a chronology, a bibliography of 50 books about
Massachusetts, and more. Bound in dark blue cloth over boards with front
endpaper map and map in pocket on rear pastedown. The map has short tears
along two folds. Minor extremity rubs, shallow bumps. Hinges remain strong
and sound. Jacket has some edge chips, tears, and rubbed wrinkles. A nice
copy....... $75.00
