1.  POWERS,  J. F. LOOK HOW THE FISH LIVE. New York: Alfred  A.  Knopf
1975.  First  Edition.  Third collection of stories by  this  Catholic
writer,  who spent thirteen months in jail as a conscientious objector
for  refusing  to join the military in World War II. Hailed  by  Frank
O'Connor  as  one of "the greatest living storytellers." This copy  is
SIGNED  by the author on the front endpaper. Fine in Fine dustwrapper.

2.  POWERS,  J.  F. MORTE D'URBAN. Garden City: Doubleday  &  Company,
Inc.  1962.  First Edition. National Book Award-winning novel by  this
Catholic  writer  who  was  hailed by Frank O'Connor as  one  of  "the
greatest  living  storytellers." This copy is SIGNED by the author  on
the  front  endpaper and quite uncommon as such. Light stain to  front
endpaper  not  affecting  the signature. About Fine in close  to  Fine

1956.   First  Edition.  Second  book   by  this  Catholic   writer, a
collection  of short stories. Powers spent thirteen months in jail  as
a  conscientious  objector for refusing to join the military in  World
War  II.  Hailed  by  Frank O'Connor as one of  "the  greatest  living
storytellers."  This  copy  is  SIGNED  by the  author  on  the  front
endpaper.  Offsetting  to endpapers. Minor wear to  dustwrapper.  Near

4.  POWERS,  J.  F. WHEAT THAT SPRINGETH GREEN. New  York:  Alfred  A.
Knopf  1988. First Edition. First novel by this Catholic writer in  25
years,  since  his National Book Award-winning MORTE D'URBAN, and  his
final  work,  a  funny  and very moving novel  about  the  making  and
remaking  of a priest. This copy is SIGNED by the author on the  front
endpaper. Additionally Powers has noted on the bottom of the endpaper,
in  pencil, that he has made two emendations in the text. Both are  in
ink  and  initialled by Powers. Also laid in is a 1991 AUTOGRAPH  NOTE
SIGNED  (ANS)  by the author to a collector. Tiny closed tear at  base
of rear of dustwrapper. Fine in a close to Fine dustwrapper.   $150.00
