Originally published in 1832. A charming early English guidebook which
includes chapters on perspective, flower painting, painting the human
figure, miniature & portrait painting, historical painting and transparent
painting.

Hardcover. 5”x7”, xii + 212 pages, with 24 lithographed plates, of which
11 are delicately hand-colored. Publisher’s brown cloth with gilt title an
artist’s pallet on the cover. Covers a bit worn, front hinge cracked and
wobbly, front black endpaper tearing away from the binding; a little
scattered internal soil. $125.00
