By One of the Party, (Carrie Edwards Emerson). A EUROPEAN TRIP; SUMMER  
OF 1889. Bristol N.H.: Press of R. W. Musgrove, 1890. Octavo, pebbled  
blue cloth, with "Souvenir" in gilt on front board. Patterned  
endpapers. 126pp. Started as a private diary but being encouraged by  
the leader of the trip, Dr. Oscar D. Cheney of Haverill, Miss Emerson  
had her piece published as a souvenir for each member of the travel  
party. She lists thirty-two members at the end of the book. OCLC  
locates just three copies at Harvard, Dartmouth and the Merrimack  
Library Consortium. Google has digitized the Harvard Copy. They sail  
on the Cunard Line's Scythia; Sixty-five days, visiting; England,  
Scotland,  Holland, France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.   
Travelogue through the eyes of a young American girl from Lawrence  
Massachusetts. She writes warmly of her fellow travelers and leader  
Cheney. Very good with only minor wear. Uncommon and delightful! $125.00
