text figures and all 429 mounted samples of color printed designed textiles. 
Cont. calf, gilt, hinges rubbed, over marbled boards. Occasional foxing. The 
first 15 leaves of Vol. 4, with old brown discoloration (oil stain?), not 
affecting readability.     $1,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
Jean-Francois Persoz's (1805-1868) brilliant & comprehensive treatise on 
decorative, color printed fabrics and color theory application. It includes a 
survey of all the known organic and inorganic dyes. The original cloth 
samples included are from the "most modern" textile manufacturing centers of 
England, Scotland, Switzerland and France. This is all 4 volumes of the text. An 
"Atlas" volume (Volume 5) which contains 3 color printed charts and 17 
engraved plates is not present.
