HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE (Large Paper copy)
2 volumes, I. 296 + 6 pages index. II. 324 + 6 pages index and 2 
pages Arrangements of the Plates, uncoloured stipple engraved 
portrait of His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester (on India 
paper) facing the dedication page in volume I, 95 hand coloured 
plates (with the 16 plates of Founders) - mostly aquatints but others 
are line and stipple engravings, with the half title pages and list 
of subscribers, contemporary full crimson straight-grained morocco, 
spines decorated gilt in panels, sides ruled in gilt and decorated in 
blind, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, contained in red cloth slip 
case with leather-trimmed edges and fleece linings, from the Battle 
Abbey library with a shelf mark 903/2 and a bookplate (a note in 
pencil describes this as the bookplate of the Duchess of Cleveland), 
6 centimetre repair at the base of the upper joint of volume II, the 
leather and slip cases have been expertly refurbished, the plates and 
text are crisp and bright, a fine set of the Large Paper edition. The 
page size measures 400 x 310 mm (15.75 x 12.25 inches) and the 
binding size 412 x 325 mm (16.25 x 12.5 inches).
