RILEY, James Whitcomb. THE FLYING ISLANDS OF THE NIGHT. Indianapolis: 
Bowen Merrill, 1892. First Edition. White flexible boards embossed with 
an all-over design of cherub heads and the front cover stamped in gold. 
BAL 16587: Printing 1, Binding A. Minor spotting to covers and 
dustwrapper. INSCRIBED "Very truly yours" and SIGNED in full by the 
author in Indianapolis in December 1891. Riley has also added TWO LINES 
OF VERSE: "As full of naught/As space is full of emptiness." With two 
small corrections in the text, presumably by Riley. Half inch chip at 
base of spine with very small chip at the head. A fragile book, 
especially with the original dustwrapper. Very Good in a Very Good and 
scarce printed dustwrapper in dustwrapper. boards.	$750.00
