William Claiborne, the advent of the Quakers in Maryland, boundary disputes,
and much more. The author was one of Abraham Lincoln's presidential
secretaries who continued to serve under Andrew Johnson. HOWES #N44; SABIN
#52288. Bound in original dark green cloth over bevelled boards with
gilt-stamped spine, dark brown endpapers. Light extremity wear. Hinges
