One of 35 or so select items on our Spring New York Book Fair list to be
published on our home page early next week. Included will be exceptional
signed items, lovely hand-colored plate books, and early printed and
unusual pieces. They will be among the hundreds of fine items that will
be on display in our booth E-24 at the show which runs from Friday
through Sunday, April 8 - 11, at the Park Avenue Armory at 67th St. Hope
to see you there.

ROOSEVELT, Eleanor. INDIA AND THE AWAKENING EAST. New York: Harper &
Brothers, (1953). First Edition. Illustrated with photographs. SIGNED
and INSCRIBED by the author and former First Lady on the half-title
page: "To dear Joe + Trudi/with love/--Eleanor Roosevelt." This title is
not often seen inscribed. Roosevelt inscribed books to people using just
their first names only when she knew them well. In this case it is to
none other than Joseph Lash and his wife. Lash won the Pulitzer Prize
for ELEANOR AND FRANKLIN, one of several books he wrote about the
Roosevelts. Near Fine in a Very Good dustwrapper with a faded spine.
