From our New Spring List of Rare Books & Autographs now posted on our
home page: http://www.charlesagvent.com. This title, along with many
others, is also at the New York Book Fair at the Park Avenue Armory at
67th St, Friday - Sunday April 9 - 11, in our booth at E-24. Please visit.
ROOSEVELT, Eleanor. THIS IS MY STORY. New York & London: Harper &
Brothers, 1937. Reprint. Illustrated with photographs. SIGNED by the
author on the half-title page and INSCRIBED "To their Majesties/The King
& Queen of Greece/With good wishes/Eleanor Roosevelt." Most likely the
recipients are Paul and his wife Frederika of Hanover. Paul succeeded to
the throne in 1947, on the death of his childless elder brother, King
George II, during the Greek Civil War. Needless to say, books inscribed
by the First Lady to royalty are rare. Near Fine in a Very Good
dustwrapper, bright but with some edgewear. $1,500.00
