A collection of maxims and aphorisms selected from the works of Cicero, 
Demosthenes, Isocrates and other classical writers, compiled by the French 
classical scholar Pierre Lagnier. Also contained in this work is Cicero's "De 
Doctrina Philosophorum" (pp. 368-456). The first edition appeared in 1560 and 
this is apparently the only edition printed in Italy. Not in Adams or BL.
