On this day 145 years ago, Americans woke up to the news that their 
president had been murdered. Lincoln was the first U.S. president to be 
assassinated. The nation was shocked. This man witnessed the crime:

Boston & New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1930. First printing, Original 
cloth, Octavo, [viii], 63 pages, black & white photographic plates. Fine in 
a very good dust jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
      Ferguson was a call-boy at Ford's Theatre and witnessed the 
assassination of Lincoln. In addition to his eyewitness testimony he offers 
interesting comments on Booth's preparations at the theatre on the day of 
the assassination, the theory that Booth shot himself at the Garrett farm, 
and the portrayal of the Lincoln assassination in early motion pictures. 
Limited edition of 1,000 copies. MONAGHAN #3181. Very scarce in original 
dust jacket. Bound in black cloth over boards with black titles on red paper 
labels laid onto spine and upper board, red topstain. Prior owner bookplate 
on front pastedown, a few tiny external rubs. Dust jacket is mildly browned 
and soiled on front panel with minor extremity rubs....... $350.00
