First edition. Pasquier Quesnel (1634-1719), French Jansenist writer, 
escaped to Brussels after his edition of the works of Pope Leo I was 
placed on the Index and he refused to condemn Jansenism. He was 
arrested three years after the publication of this work. Spine 
lightly rubbed, later endpapers, institutional stamp to verso title

normally shipped Media Mail. For international orders, postage is
