ANDERSON, Sherwood. WINESBURG, OHIO. New York: B. W. Huebsch, 1919.
First Edition. Anderson's third and best known book, one of the most
important books of American fiction of the twentieth century, this copy
with all first issue points: map on front pastedown; title page frame
unbroken; "lay" for "lie" on page 86, line 5; and broken type on page
251, line 3; top edge stained yellow matching the cloth. SIGNED by the
author on the half-title page just below the title "Winesburg, Ohio."
Small leather bookplate on upper left corner of the front pastedown with
slight offsetting to the front endpaper. The yellow cloth is lightly
soiled, moreso to the spine which is sunned as well. The white paper
spine label is intact, though a little wrinkled and soiled. Contents are
tight and clean. Housed in a plain black cloth slipcase. Lacks the rare
dustwrapper. Very Good and scarce when signed. $8,500.00
