“BARANGER. Window Displays in Motion. Dramatizing the Jewel”

By John A. Daniel.
Published by Zon International Publishing Company in 2001.

DISCUSSION: Beginning in 1937, the Baranger Studios of South Pasedena
began specializing in elaborate, miniature mechanical “stage displays” for
use by jewelers in their shop windows to showcase fine jewelry and
watches. Over the next 20 years the company created 167 different
displays, 30 of each design. In 1978 the company archives were purchased
by Burton A. Burton, who hired John Daniel (magician, collector, and
antique toy restorer) to organize the collection, and restore a complete
example of every model made by Baranger. The results are showcased in this
book, not only the first comprehensive study of the Baranger display
models, but a complete record of all their creations.

Uncommon.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 9”x12”, 127 pages, color illustrations, dust jacket.

CONDITION NOTES: Light wear, gift inscription on the title page, but
overall clean and good.

PRICE: $275~
