This is the very rare first complete Bible in Sanskrit, the version of J.
Wenger (1811-1880). Volume 2 is dated 1852; Volume 3, 1858, Volume 4, 1872
and Volume 5 (the New Testament), 1851, with "second edition" printed on the
title page. Note: the first edition of the New Testament in Sanskrit is 1841,
which was the version of W. Yates. Our 1851 imprint is the first printing
of the Wenger version. See Darlow & Moule #8002, 8004, 8009, 8012 and 8003. D
& M notes the Wenger edition has "never been revised and remains the only
version in use."
