(LEAF BOOKS) ORIGINAL LEAVES FROM FAMOUS ENGLISH BOOKS. London: The Folio 
Society. N.d. (circa 1950?). Folio (22" x 15-1/2"). 1 sheet of descriptive 
letterpress plus 12 original leaves (each with a tissue guard), mounted & 
matted, with captions printed on the mattes. All items are housed in publisher's 
green cloth clamshell box (minor fraying at front hinge, spine label 
lacking and minor soiling). This copy contains 2 examples of the descriptive 
letterpress leaf.      $850.00 (trade discount allowed)
The leaves included are from: 1. Pynson's "Froissart," 1523; 2. Foxe's 
"Book of Martyrs," 1576 (with a woodcut); 3. King James Bible, 1611; 4. Second 
Folio of Shakespeare, 1632; 5. Clarendon's "History," 1701-04; 6. Dr 
Johnson's "Dictionary," 1756; 7. Baskerville's "Virgil," 1757; 8. Foulis Press 
"Pope," 1785; 9. Bulmer's "River Thames," 1794-6; 10. Chiswick Press, "Book of 
Common Prayer," 1844; 11. Kelmscott Press, "Well at the World's End," 1896; 
and 12. Doves Press, "Milton," 1902-05.
