Greetings Booklovers,

We are pleased to offer:
~
(No. 10813 ) Barton, William E[leazer]. (1861-1930). THE LINEAGE OF
LINCOLN.
Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill Company, (1929). First printing, Full cloth,
Octavo, [xxviii], 419 pages, black and white photographic plates. Fine in a
near fine dust jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
Detailed genealogy of Abraham Lincoln based on painstaking research by
Dr. Barton in both the United States and England. The first book to fully
examine the Hanks side of Lincoln's ancestry. Barton's work in this area has
stood the test of time. MONAGHAN, #3079; ANGLE, SOLB pp. 65-66. Bound in
green cloth over boards with spine titled in black. Some light extremity
rubs. Jacket shows some minor edge wear, shallow edge chips, and light soil.
A handsome copy of this important and uncommon Lincoln title....... $200.00

~
(No. 9203 ) Cathey, James H[arrison]. (1866-1929). TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN
FICTION; OR THE TRUE GENESIS OF A WONDERFUL MAN.
(S.l.): (s.n.), (1899). First printing, Original cloth, Sixteenmo, 185
pages, Black & White photographs. Very Good.
Cathey's research and findings regarding the tradition of Abraham
Lincoln's birth in Western North Carolina from an alleged union of Nancy
Hanks and one Abraham Enloe. Numerous photographs illustrate the striking
physical resemblance of Lincoln to the Enloes--particularly to would-be
half-brother Wesley M. Enloe. Makes an interesting case. Scarce. MONAGHAN
#1243. Bound in red cloth over boards with gilt-stamped lettering on upper
board, blind-stamped borders and ornaments on both boards, decorated
endpapers, marbled textblock edges. Exterior cloth has some faint scattered
spots, minor extremity rubs, and shallow bumps at spine ends. Spine is
somewhat darkened and bears the remnants of an old paper label. Prior owner
bookplate at top fore corner of front pastedown. Frontispiece and title page
have short, repaired tears at top edge of inner margins. One signature
slightly protruding from textblock. Overall a sound and bright copy.......
