EDGEWORTH,  MARIA.  WORKS.  Boston, 1823-25.  8 volumes, old worn calf, 2 title pages lacking. Contain Priestley armorial bookplates of Joseph R. Priestley (b. 1793) and signatures of Mrs. Frances D. Priestley, (one reading Frances D. Priestley, Northumberland.)  Accompanied by 6 later volumes of misc. literature containing: armorial bookplate & signature of Jos. R, Priestley; and armorial bookplates of Jane Dundas Priestley. The impressive Priestley home situated above the river which Jos. Priesley had built in Northumberland, Pa., (see http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/people/4277/priestley,_joseph_%28ph%29/443569can ) can still be visited, where you can see some of his scientific instruments, &c.   The coats of arms on the bookplates in these books are adaptations of the original; Priestley arms (see http://www.houseofnames.com/xq/asp.c/qx/priestley-coat-arms.htm ).
