Near fine in a very good, price clipped dust jacket, Jacket in Mylar
protector.
Engaging account of life in a Union cavalry regiment which
participated in major battles at Perryville, Chickamauga, and Bentonville,
and engaged in continuous scouting and foraging raids through Kentucky,
Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Based on archival sources
and diaries, including those of Cornelius Baker and William Thomas. EICHER
#1086. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Rowell on front free endpaper. Good
bibliography. Three pieces of correspondence between a book reviewer and the
Louisville Times newspaper laid in. Bound in light blue cloth over boards
with spine stamped in black and gilt, upper board vignette in black, light
blue endpapers. Binding shows a few extremity bumps. Jacket has surface
wrinkles and light rubs....... $50.00
