pages, color and black & white plates. Near fine in a good dust jacket, 
Jacket in Mylar protector.
      Enchanting study of 19th century American shipbuilding, through the 
biography of Boston shipbuilder Donald McKay and the ships he built. Written 
by McKay's grandson. Donald McKay built some of America's most famous 
sailing ships, including the California Clippers "Stag Hound," "Flying 
Cloud," and "Great Republic." Profusely illustrated with 63 plates. Color 
plates are protected with captioned tissue guards. Collated complete. Bound 
in dark blue cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spine and upper board 
titles, top edge gilt, illustrated endpapers. Spine gilt is mildly darkened. 
Occasional scattered foxing inside. Jacket has edge chips, rubs, and a few 
tears. Tape-repaired tear by prior owner angles across lower third of rear
