1584. Thick folio. Unpaginated double column text. 2 parts in 1. Early paneled
calf, rebacked with spine gilt & blind tooled. Title page with some old
soiling, and the fore-edge & top edge of the title lightly chipped. The final
blank leaf is lacking. $1,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
The very popular "Cooper's Dictionary" is Thomas Cooper's (Bishop of
Lincoln and Winchester) greatest work. First printed in 1565, and reprinted in
1573, 1578 and 1584, it is an authoritative Latin to English dictionary, with a
valuable second part, an historical, geographical and literary dictionary.
It is an indispensable reference work for the study of Elizabethan England.
