Illustrated with 6 hand colored lithograph plates, a frontispiece, and several 
text drawings and stratigraphic columns. Orig. blind stamped purple cloth, gilt 
stamped spine, faded & chipped, but hinges still sound. Bookplate on front 
pastedown indicates this was a Harvard Library duplicate, originally from 
the library of Louis Agassiz. Overall, a nice copy of this first edition.
